Note: This article describes features associated with Microsoft Expression Web and Microsoft FrontPage 2003. Since Expression Web is designed to replace FrontPage 2003, many of the commands and features have been maintained in the new program. Some features are not available for all accounts, and may appear differently in your Control Panel interface. If you want to use this feature but do not have it, please call sales.
To Design and Publish a Web Site using Microsoft Expression Web:
For information and an instructional video on publishing your site to the web, go to How do I use Microsoft Expression Web? (Video and Transcript).
- Open Microsoft Expression Web, and click File | New. The Design view appears, and an html folder is created.
- Double-click the html folder, and edit the page using the features available to you with this product. Remember to save your work frequently.
- Publish the design to the web by clicking File | Publish Site. You should select FrontPage Server Extensions as the Remote Web Server type, as this option is fully compatible with Microsoft Expression Web.
- Type http://your domain name in the Remote Web site location field.
- Click OK. You are prompted for your Web Site Username and Password.
- Type your Username and Password, and click Publish Web Site.
- View your site in your web browser.
